My work is inspired by the streets I pass through on the way to my studio every day. The colours, architectural shapes and marks left by previous visitors all make their way into my artworks. After making mental notes of whatever I see I make my way back to the studio and start to create my work. I'm really interested in the layering of colour and texture in my abstract pieces and the light hearted side of my character pieces. I want the works to be exciting and vibrant.
After graduating from De Montfort University I took on the role of managing studionAme, Leicester's newest arts facility and contemporary art gallery, which keeps me in touch with everything thats going on in the Midlands art scene.
I like to do things a little bit different when it comes to my exhibitions and I recently had a solo show where I built a skatepark in the gallery space alongside a series of abstract paintings. The opening night was a blast ubtil someones skateboard made a rather large hole in the gallery wall.
